Something has to be done quickly about the plight of abused men. I am a woman, however, I personally believe that if it's wrong to hurt a woman, then it is equally wrong to hurt a man regardless of the circumstances. More things should be done to have this issue dealt with. Politicians, law makers, ordinary people alike - should all do something about this. I guess it's all about the "machismo" issue prevalent in our society. You are right when you said that RA 9262 should address all genders. It is a reality that men are also physically abused. Most of them are just too embarrassed to admit so. This common situational response should be overcome, otherwise, physical and emotional abuse on men would continue - as domestic violence does. It is a never ending cycle. The belief that women should never be hurt or reprimanded when they hurt their partners simply because men are macho enough to take it is ridiculous. Men have feelings, too. I was in a physically abusive relationship before but I still believe in equality when it comes to rights. Go,go,go! Thanks to GMA-7 for their documentary on this. God bless. Sorry for the useless litany but I do hope you get all the support that you need.
